“We at Carrigoran House find the service of the Clare Volunteer Centre invaluable to our volunteer programme.
There are various roles required in Carrigoran House including visiting with our Senior Residents as well as participation in a wide range of activities and many trips which we would not be able to undertake without the assistance of volunteers.
There are many reasons why individuals wish to volunteer and in some instances we find individuals just love to be in the presence of the Elderly because it reminds them of a Grandparent or Parent. All find volunteering a very fulfilling experience.
I am very grateful for the support of the Clare Volunteer Centre, the team provide great structure, guidance and support with recruitment and training.” Aineis Brock, Volunteer Coordinator
“The goal of reforming Tidy Towns was to promote environmental awareness, civic spirit and pride in our community as well as increasing our rating in the National Tidy Towns competition. We set about a work programme to enhance our community and priority was given to the uncared buildings in the centre of our small town.
I was aware of the ethos of the Clare Volunteer Centre and having made telephone contact could see that the Clare Volunteer Centre could provide free expert resources and could work as an extension of our own expertise. In March 2012 we applied for mural artist(s)/person(s) with artistic ability to complete work on the uncared /derelict buildings in Newmarket-on-Fergus.
Clare Volunteer Centre were very supportive and delivered for us! Almost by return we were supplied with the names of volunteer artists Jahne Romer & Denise Browne. Both welcomed the opportunity to work with Tidy Towns and so began the working relationship with the Clare Volunteer Centre and with Jahne & Denise. The buildings were transformed and the assistance of Clare Volunteer Centre has been instrumental in helping us enhance our community and increase our ratings in the National Tidy Towns Competition”. Margaret O Rourke-Quill, Newmarket on Fergus Tidy Towns.
